After that meeting, Obama is scheduled to make remarks in the White House’s East Room at 11:45 a.m. about some of the law’s “benefits and cost savings” and how the law will make the insurance market more competitive until health insurance exchanges are up and running in 2014, the official said. The events coincide with the 90-day anniversary of the new health law.
Scott Serota, president and chief executive officer of the BlueCross and BlueShield Association, is one of the health insurance executives who will attend. “It’s a good opportunity to discuss pragmatic ways to implement (health) reform regulations,” said Brett Lieberman, a BlueCross and BlueShield spokesman.
