As the Senate begins debate on legislation to overhaul the nation’s health care system, Democrats and Republicans are expected to offer an array of amendments on the public option, abortion, immigration and the financing of the bill, among other issues. Senate floor action聽is expected to last most of the month, with Senate聽Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., hoping to pass a bill before Christmas.
