Anthem Reports Better-Than-Expected 3Q Earnings
Health insurer Anthem Inc. on Wednesday reported a better-than-expected increase in revenue and earnings in its third quarter, driven in part by strong performance in its government-business segments. On the heels of its latest results, Anthem updated its forecast for annual adjusted earnings to a range of $10.10 to $10.20 per share. Previously the company had expected earnings greater than $10. Anthem Inc. (ANTM) on Wednesday reported third-quarter profit of $654.8 million. The Indianapolis-based company said it had profit of $2.43 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and amortization costs, were $2.73 per share. (10/28)
