Conn. State Legislature Primed To Tackle An Array Of Health Policy Issues
The new year is likely to bring lots of potential changes in health care policy at the federal level, as President-elect Donald J. Trump and Republicans in Congress are expected to take on Obamacare, Medicaid and, potentially, Medicare. But there will also be plenty of health care issues debated in Connecticut鈥檚 Capitol during the upcoming legislative session, which begins Wednesday, Jan. 4. (Levin Becker, 1/3)
Gov. Dannel P. Malloy will propose his two-year budget Feb. 8. Once again, the process of crafting a budget is expected to be less than pleasant: Nonpartisan analysts have projected a $1.45 billion deficit in the upcoming fiscal year, and that鈥檚 after several years of unpopular cuts and multiple unpopular tax hikes.
