Senate Republicans Eye Changing The House Health Law Replacement Bill
Republican senators are increasingly talking about needing to amend the House鈥檚 health care law replacement bill. Senate Republican Conference Chairman John Thune of South Dakota said it's possible the Senate will [add] changes to the House's health care bill through the budget reconciliation process on the floor. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) is pushing an alternative ObamaCare repeal bill amid growing opposition to the House GOP leadership's plan. 聽Paul introduced a bill 鈥 known as the ObamaCare repeal bill 鈥 mirrored off a 2015 bill that cleared the Senate along party lines.聽聽鈥淭he Republican Party is unified on Obamacare repeal,鈥 Paul said in a statement.聽鈥淲e can honor our promise right away by passing the same language we acted on in the last Congress."
