On the heels of Washington state’s successful pushback of President Donald Trump’s immigration order, Oregon is readying for a court battle if the federal government tries to curtail abortion rights, the state’s attorney general said. The attorneys general of both Oregon and Washington said in interviews with The Associated Press that they are increasingly sharing information and consulting with each other and with other Democratic counterparts, as the White House and Congress try to roll back Obama policies and steer a conservative course for the nation. The Arizona Senate has approved a bill requiring doctors to use "all available means and medical skills" to try to save the life of every baby born — whether the child is born alive during an abortion, unexpectedly arrives months early or is delivered with a fatal defect and expected to live only minutes. Sen. Steve Smith, R-Maricopa, the bill's sponsor, said Senate Bill 1367 isn't about abortion. It's about what should happen when a baby is born alive as opposed to current "barbaric" practices.
